Abstract: The SiC inverter switching at high frequencies introduces increased common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues in applications like aerospace, electric vehicles, etc. These EMI issues are commonly addressed by employing EMI filters. The attenuation performance of the magnetic components in an EMI filter degrades at high frequencies and results in increased volume and poor attenuation. Thus, the EMI filter's design must be improved for enhanced performance and minimized volume. This webinar will present the different EMI filter configurations with modified design topologies/procedures for SiC inverter-fed motor drives. The impact of the high switching frequency operation on the motor drive and EMI will also be discussed
